Password is not stored anywhere on our servers here at TeamsID. So that means, if a member forgets their TeamsID password, as an Account Admin, you can can reset password, only to gain access back to the shared records, but the user will lose all personal records. If the user is a member on the account, user would receive a reset password link. Once reset password is done, user would have access back to the team and records.
Note – Only Account Admin can reset a members password.
There are 2 ways to initiate a password reset:
Option 1: User initiates it from the sign in page
- Step 1 (by user): Click on ‘Forgot password’ in the sign in page
- Step 2 (by user): Enter email and request Account Admin for a password reset. Account Admin receives an email with the password reset request
- Step 3 (by admin): Go to Account Settings Members tab and click on ‘Reset Password’ alongside the user. An email is sent to the user with password reset link.
- Step 4 (by user): Click on the reset password link in the email and proceed with setting a new password and sign in with new password
Option 2: Admin initiates it from the Account Settings Members tab. Admin follows step 3 as above. User follows step 4 as above
